Paula Calise

June 28: Targeted Job Search That Works, Paula Calise

On Wednesday, June 28, the Expert Speaker Series continues with "Targeted Job Search That Works." Guest speaker will be Paula Calise, Principal, Linked Executive Research. Calise's career is punctuated by rapid advancement at IBM and TXU. Prior to launching her recruiting practice, she was a Sales and Marketing VP for a nationwide consulting company. Today, Calise places mid and top leadership in Dallas' large and mid-cap companies. She is known for her generosity of pay-it-forward networking and coaching. A founding principle of Calise's recruiting practice is to be "candidate friendly," leading to untold hours each year providing pro bono career coaching. Calise holds a degree in Human Resources from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Houston. Click here for the calendar.

June 14: Elizabeth Lions, of Elizabeth Lions Consulting, provided "Successful Job Seeker Tips." In particular, she addressed the need to "recession proof" your career, and steps you can take now to enhance your job continuity.

Terry Sullivan

June 7: Terry Sullivan, of Buzzpro, LLC and a recognized LinkedIn expert, provided an informative and energetic presentation. He provided guidance on the "New" LinkedIn and how to use its features to get your value statements out to prospective employers.


Thank you for the ministry of Career Alliance at St. Jude's. The program helped me in many practical ways. The networking opportunities and real world tips for the job search were great, but perhaps most importantly for me, it provided structure during the transition.

What We Do


The St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry now uses a curriculum series entitled Discovery: Marketing My Career. Career Alliance is in its ninth year and has accounted for over 325 people finding jobs within the last four years. The curriculum is presented four times per year with five weekly sessions each time.

Expert Speakers

Between the curriculum presentations, speakers who are experts in various facets of the Job Search process come to Career Alliance to add practical advice. These speakers include recruiters, authors, and people from fields that are critical to a successful Job Search. These include experts on LinkedIn, Emotional Intelligence, resumes, etc. See the calendar.


Career Alliance provides many resources for Job Seekers including the Dallas Business Journal's (DBJ) Book of Lists, The Dallas Morning News' Best Places to Work, weekly DBJ, helpful websites, and books by authors who are experts on Job Search subjects like LinkedIn, Networking, etc. In addition, many of the Power Point presentations by the Expert Speakers are in the Resources Section of this website.
